For the rich developed nations to offer such a terrible deal to their
less fortunate neighbours is a bit like being the wealthiest person at
the group dinner and only buying one round at the bar. You're being
cheap, not thrifty, and nobody thinks that's clever.
Play:
--=--
Silent Hill Homecoming (PS3) - Noice. I went into this cold knowing only
that it's technically a sequel to the original PSX title (and not a
continuation of the Silent Hill 2 story in any meaningful way) and I
find it holds together pretty well. The initial exploration area is a
disused hospital, which is a way of excusing the sexy nurse monsters and
the horrifying sound effects. I just wish there weren't all this
parenting to do in between pause button presses so that I could get
properly immersed, and get over the fact that I'm unable to invert the Y
axis on the camera stick.
Class of Heroes 1/2G (PS3/PS5) - I picked up the original western
release of 2G with its terrible Gaijinworks script translation, before
realising that both Class of Heroes games were released on PS5 in an
enhanced edition that includes voice acting. I love it, but it's also
another (pair of) game(s) on the teetering stack of Wizardry clones that
I don't really have time for. At least now I have the sense to use
pre-rolled characters instead of attempting to make my own and spending
hours never getting out of the character generator.
Transformers Devastation (360) - My kid is the one playing, not me. And
yet I'm having to sit behind him and impart wisdom about when to
double-jump, not to give up during challenging platforming segments, and
not to miss valuable pick-ups whilst exploring the map. He is enthralled
by the narrative and wants all the toys, which is perfect because the
gift-giving season is coming up and what I need to do is fill my house
with more plastic crap.
Want:
--=--
Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection (PS5) - "Arriving today by 10 pm"
is generally Amazon's way of saying "We ain't got it yet brah, you
better wait another day". Okay then.

Nothing game-related.
-KKC, who suddenly wonders if he's missed a config option in Homecoming.
